【摘要】:Thistestmethodwillprovidearelationshipbetweentimetofailure,creeprate,anddisplacementtofailureforspecificfailureloadsatspecifictesttemperaturesaswellasarelationshipbetweencreeprateandappliedloadatspecifictesttemperaturesforloadslessthanfailureloads.Piledesignforspecificsoiltemperaturesmaybecontrolledbyeitherlimitinglong-termstresstobelowlong-termstrengthorbylimitingallowablesettlementoverthedesignlifeofthestructure.Itisthepurposeofthistestmethodtoprovidethebasicinformationfromwhichthelimitingstrengthorlong-termsettlementmaybeevaluatedbygeotechnicalengineers.Dataderivedfrompiletestsatspecificgroundtemperaturesthatdifferfromthedesigntemperaturesmustbecorrectedtothedesigntemperaturebytheuseofdatafromadditionalpiletests,laboratorysoilstrengthtests,orpublishedcorrelations,ifapplicable,toprovideasuitablemeansofcorrection.Fordrivenpilesorgroutedpiles,failurewilloccuratthepile/soilinterface.Forslurriedpiles,failurecanoccurateitherthepile/slurryinterfaceortheslurry/soilinterface,dependingonthestrengthanddeformationpropertiesoftheslurrymaterialandtheadfreezebondstrength.Locationofthefailuresurfacemustbetakenintoaccountinthedesignofthetestprogramandintheinterpretationofthetestresults.Dynamicloadsmustbeevaluatedseparately.Note38212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbyapplicationofthisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilities.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresfortestingindividualverticalpilestodetermineresponseofthepiletostaticcompressiveloadappliedaxiallytothepile.Thesetestmethodsareapplicabletoalldeepfoundationunitsinpermafrostthatfunctioninamannersimilartopilesregardlessoftheirmethodofinstallation.Thisstandardisdividedintothefollowingsections:
